This little light mat has two advantages. Firstly, its size makes it ideal and very handy for many different projects. Those are the reasons I bought it. Second, its price makes up for some annoyances. I mean. I paid about $17, which is less than a crate of chickens from The Colonel. But there are several problems. First, it could really be brighter. It has a switch that toggles from off to dim, to not so dim and then to as bright as it gets. But I only use it on the lightest ones, and I want it to be even lighter. So I don't see why you need to have three settings in the first place. Hmmmmm But the BIG annoyance is that damn switch. As I work, I constantly move the notebook to fit the natural curve of my arm and hand. No matter how hard I try, I can't avoid accidentally touching the power button. When I work in a darkened room, which I do most of the time, I have to turn on my desk lamp to find that damn switch to continue working. I finally solved the problem by gluing a bottle cap onto the switch.
