available no it doesn't heat or even heat up. Yes, it really works. Attached to this review is a thermal image of the bed and one of our cats. While the bed never feels warm, it is actually around 20 degrees warmer than the ambient temperature. It took the two cats about a day to realize that the bed was heating up, but they've been in it ever since. Cats love it and the power consumption is relatively low.
