I bought these for use with a fixed charging station used by several family members. The pair started to look flaky after a few weeks, most of them completely dead within 6 months. I've seen several cables that came with phones but only after 1-2 years of heavy use. If you're okay with connecting your device, move it around as needed to start charging with the unreliable cable, make sure it's actually charging, and don't touch the device until it's done. then they might be useful to you. I'm tired of going back and finding my devices not charging due to shorts in those cables. I've just ordered a couple of Anker Powerline+ cables to replace in hopes they might be the last micro-USB charging cables I need to buy when everything transitions to USB-C. They're not that short so don't look neat, but hopefully charge reliably.
