I have replaced many ceiling lights over the years and seen fairly cheaply made ones but never seen one as cheap as this one. I'm an engineer with years of design and manufacturing experience and I can't recall ever seeing anything so poorly made that it didn't come out of a Cracker Jack box. Quality maybe on the level of a cheap children's toy. In hindsight, after seeing what junk it was, plugging it into the household power supply and mounting it to the ceiling probably wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done. The light he replaced was a cheap large storage can that I installed when I bought the house in the 1990's. The old device never missed a beat, but after my daughter broke the glass top I decided to explore what was available with the lower profile and maybe get some new features to boot. The new light worked acceptably when it was first installed. Unfortunately it stopped working after a week. Given the amazingly poor quality of the light and the remote control, it was no surprise that it didn't last much longer. Seriously, don't waste your time and money on this crap.
