Review on πŸŽ₯ Elite Screens Evanesce Tab-Tension B, 120-inch Diagonal 16:9, 4K / 8K HD Ready, Recessed in-Ceiling Electric Tab Tensioned Projector Screen, Matte White Projection Surface, ETB120HW2-E8 by John Barnett

Broken after 3 years

In general, we liked the screen. It stayed flat with a tensioning system and provided a great projection surface in our living room/cinema. One thing you will notice is that after 6 months of use the tension cords and clamps will start to dent the black binding. Not a big deal and it didn't affect the film's visuals, but it did make the screen look a little cheap. The biggest complaint for us was that the motor died after about 3 years of use. Certainly something after the warranty has expired. We are light users so only needs to have scrolled the screen about 200-300 times (once or twice a week). Would give it 4+ stars if it keeps working. I'm not sure if it's a lemon or a system issue. It might be worth spending a little more for a better company to avoid the hassle of double buying or renovating. Obviously the built-in version is difficult to install (but worth it for the clean look). On the other hand, tearing it down and renovating it is a nightmare.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
