I needed to learn how to use this tool. Firstly, the blade does not remain stable - it must be tightened with pliers. There are marks indicating the position of the blade - the standard matte mark is not deep enough and is almost approaching a double matte mark. I set everything up to cut on a carpeted floor - it was too much hassle to cut straight, but on a concrete floor to cut straight. ALSO the cutter needs a straight edge to line it up - a plastic ruler won't do, I used a metal blade.
