Very cool retro design with simplicity in mind

Maybe you like retro style or just want a no frills MP3 player? That's it. No bluetooth. No microphone. No external memory card. Perfect. Just a simple player. Imagine iPod shuffle without the expense and annoying Apple style. Connect USB to computer and download MP3 files. Of course, MP3 files are required, which is a hurdle for some. But that's her problem. Sound quality seems good, but I'm by no means an audiophile. I want something that blocks out background noise so I can focus. I want something simple. I sound like an old whiner, but I have specific reasons for wanting something very simple. (I'm not that old!). The buttons are more modern, touching, not physically, with no physical feedback when pressed. The buttons take some getting used to. I keep pressing the center of the "cassette" between the two wheels to play/pause instead of the top button. I also find the inversion of the VOLUME +/- button difficult for this American lifestyle. Volume - is at the top and volume + is at the bottom. There is some lag when pressing most buttons and performing an action (next, volume, pause). Interestingly, if you press the PREV button in the middle of a song, it doesn't skip back to the beginning of the current song, it actually skips to the previous song. This is a little different as most other players have a "back" button that first jumps back to the beginning of the current song, requiring another button press to actually go to the previous song. I don't mind at all, just pointing out a slightly different action than could be used. I had an early issue where the player got stuck for some reason. The song stopped and the sound was just a constant hum. Couldn't skip, turn off, change volume, etc. I left it alone and waited for the battery to die. It took over 12 hours! I contacted the seller, he offered me an exchange. When I stopped hearing the hum, I loaded it back up, made sure all the songs were good, and carried on. Since then it has worked without any problems. I have not traded. It's not clear, maybe I hit him too hard or what. It comes with a variety of stickers to stick on the cassette so you can choose your favorite design. There is also a link to a template so you can create your own. A very cool little addition for those who are into graphics. I loaded it up with full music and turned on the shuffle. I went away.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Long delivery time
