My very friendly mini dachshund (15 lbs) who was fully cured of this wasn't a *fan* of wearing it but she isn't like she tried to avoid it, as she did my other attempts to close thirteen stitches (plus many small stitches) that were on the head and neck after the big dog mistook her for a squirrel. shows her the extent of her injuries, but hopefully it's obvious why the vet told us the cone would do more harm than good. and how much she hated wearing my gray tights. Luckily it was delivered the same day and I would recommend it to anyone (although I'm not hoping for anything that scary). This ring prevented her from scratching open wounds and also made it impossible to bite anything on her rear end. I took them off and dusted off the fabric, which was soft and comfortable, like her favorite blanket, and didn't pull at all. When she recovered, this blanket allowed her to quickly walk up and down the stairs without getting in her way. because of something or because of too much strain on the sutures (which healed so quickly that they came off a few days early, although she wore them until all the scabs were gone).
