I bought these shoes for my 12 month old and they fit perfectly. They are easy to put on and hold up well although I bought them large to give him room to grow. They are lightweight which I think makes them good for beginners. It still took him a while to get used to it, as he mostly wore Robeez and other slippers. They're a bit clunky, so if your child is new to walking or clumsy, they may stumble a bit in them at first. But I love how easy they are to put on and they feel very comfortable. They sometimes get stuck and come loose when we put him in a stroller or swing, but they're so easy to get back that it's no big deal. In addition, they are also very cute. They make good summer shoes but can also be worn with socks in cooler weather. Another reason I would recommend ordering a little more, we fit one size up. I highly recommend it, it's good shoes at a very reasonable price.
