For some reason the skin on the balls of my feet gets a little sore as I get older. Even after running 3 miles at 3.5 km/h I still get blisters whether in running shoes or Asics running shoes. It's even worse when it's very hot outside or when you're walking fast. It got to the point where I wanted to quit the sport altogether. Googled and read about it. They aren't cheap, but the description of the solution made sense - friction causes blisters when the sock slips over the patch, then the foot doesn't rub against the sock. I've been wearing the same shoes for 6 months now and walk 2-4 miles 2-3 times a week. The patches are still snug in my shoes and have virtually eliminated the soreness and blisters. I know they work because I pulled out my hiking boots and thick socks that I haven't worn in a year (no patches) and went for a 4 mile walk (preparing for a summer hike). I hobbled home with that familiar soreness. my left foot and soon developed a blister. Came back online to buy a pair for my walking shoes and thought it was time to write a review.
