My 10 year old spaniel mix really slowed down on morning walks in 40 year old weather. Since she wouldn't even let me put on her harness, I was glad she let me put on that coat. I just put it on and tie the velcro around her neck and stomach. It covers her arthritic spine and seems to be making a big difference. This plaid (reversible) coat is gorgeous, warm enough that you won't seem to freeze. Being a retriever/spaniel mix my dog's size is a bit difficult to find. She is quite long - I bought a large one - and her chest and neck are oversized for a 36 pound dog. I don't use the ring hole for the harness and leash. A longer strap would have been useful for us, but it still works. Really nice coat! Remember to measure your dog.
