Review on πŸ’‡ L'Oreal Paris Excellence Creme Permanent Hair Color: 8.5A Champagne Blonde, 100% Gray Coverage Hair Dye - Pack of 1 by Beth Henderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to use. Covers most gray hair. Nice color. soft hair.

Used to color incoming roots and gray hair. My hair is naturally dark brown, although not exactly that color. It tends to be lighter on one side and darker on the other, and darkest at the crown. So coloring compensates for this. I color my roots regularly, I have a plastic mixing bowl and brush applicator and have used these instead of the ones that come with the kit, although I think the brush applicator that L'Oreal offers is a good idea. Gloves are of course included. I didn't get rid of all my gray hairs, but I didn't leave them on as long as I could either. I think I was afraid my hair would turn out too light. I didn't have time to run a test strip. They give you a protective conditioner to apply to your hair β€” basically to cover and protect damaged parts β€” before you start. They give you a lot of intensive conditioner. The hair actually looks better than before coloring! A little crazy but true. In my experience, any gray coverage takes longer to leave the product, so I wouldn't waste time if you're really working on it. I know it's a subtle difference in the photos, but that's the gist of it for me. To try to look more natural. I usually add highlights at the top and ends. I never color my hair under the main layer. And I make sure that the roots are only one tone lighter than my natural color. Also, make sure you check what the product is *capable* of. They have a lighting chart showing what to expect. You cannot believe that this will turn your hair from dark brown to light brown. This requires more lifting or a different process. I received this product in exchange for an honest review, but please read all of my reviews and you'll see that I'll definitely point out what I don't like. I will say that I feel like there are more shades of red than I expected but it looks nice and natural so I'm happy. And so soft! Really, Loreal, how did you do that?
