I've only had this for about 3 weeks so can't comment on the durability of these headphones yet. I bought these headphones because I do a lot of outdoor work, mowing grass and the like, and I needed something to put in my ears to keep wood chips, pebbles and the like from getting into my ear canal, when using a grass trimmer. Also, I get bored mowing grass all day, so I wanted headphones, not just earbuds. Pros: These things isolate noise better than any headphones I've ever owned. (I mowed and trimmed the grass while listening to the radio and everything was perfectly audible.) - They sound and look great. - They fit my ear canal snugly and comfortably and come with different sizes of ear tips to fit all sizes. - The cable feels strong and durable. Possible Cons: The shape of these earbuds can cause problems when you need to put them in your pocket, they tend to catch on something because they protrude more than regular earbuds. Phones are L shaped, that's not a problem for me but maybe for other people. - You have no volume control, just pause and skip. I have now discovered that this is because I bought a "one button" controller and not a "three button" controller. The three-button control costs $50 and is the same headphone, just with two additional features. A single button control has buttons that just click and do nothing. It seems messy as hell to me because it's the same earbuds without two features, while the $16 Apple earbuds have all three features. It just seems like they could have easily given all three features, but instead opted to hold the volume control hostage for an extra $20. They sell the same headphones for an additional $20 just for the volume control. This is doubtful. Other reviewers question the durability of these headphones. I can't yet confirm or deny the durability of these things, but you should still be aware of the issues that are occurring. The button control is in the middle where both cables meet, rather than just on the right cable like other headphones. Depending on what headphones you're used to, it may take some time, nothing special, a few days at most. I personally found these headphones ideal for my purposes. Some of these disadvantages are more of a nuisance to others than to me. I don't mind directly pressing the volume buttons on my iPod, it just annoyed me that SOL held the volume buttons hostage but sold the same headphones for an additional $20.
