I am preparing an old album for my daughter with some photos from almost a century ago. I bought the leather heart album which is just beautiful. I bought replacement black pages that can be trimmed to fit the original backsheets in case I mess up the original page. In that regard, the replenishment pages work just fine. The downside is that they smell like some kind of chemical smell. I laid them out in one layer for "airing". Now the whole room stinks when I open the door. Two problems: will the smell on the paper go away? (I can always air out in the spring.) How can the pages be photo-safe when they smell like this?
