Honestly, I expected a cheap bag, like Walmart or other cheap stores. no This book bag is a great material. There are not many pockets, which is very convenient for small children. Has two stretchable mesh bottle pockets on either side for water bottles and/or anything else you like. It's well padded in the back to keep books from riding up your child's back and it's a GREAT medium size. Not small like a kids backpack but a normal size for average use. My little girl loves it and it's pretty easy to wipe dirt off of it. I can't explain it well enough. it's just great!
