Full disclosure - I have used this style of hair chalk before. The one I bought doesn't appear to have the same brand name, but the chalks look exactly the same, so it wouldn't surprise me if they are the same product marketed under different brand names.Anyway, I wanted to address some of the negative reviews. If you try just taking one out of the box and trying to use it, I bet you'll be disappointed. They aren't the rather oiler form seen in some pen-style chalks. I figured out that soaking the end of the chalk for 30 seconds or so loosens up the chalk, and it transfers much better. A damp chalk on damp hair gave me the best end result.I doubt these chalks - any chalks, really - would leave vibrant color on very dark hair. I have ash blonde hair, and they work great. I can see some traces of color after one shampoo, and I like using the pink to leave a strawberry blonde look.
