I never thought I would need one until I started playing Destiny. There's nothing worse than spending hours clearing the glass chamber of new players when your controller suddenly goes blank. The standard cable that comes with the PS4 is too short unless you don't mind playing it while practically kissing the TV screen. This cable solves that problem. I can play from a very comfortable distance and not have to worry about dead controllers (which lead to dead Guardians in Destiny). As a bonus, the cable is the same as any other mini USB. So when you don't need to charge your controller, you can charge your cellphone or other supported device. I like to plug in my Note 3 and watch videos or streams while doing some mindless tasks.
