Although this product is well made and universal lighting settings are easy to control, it cannot be used for reading. It's four times bigger. my past rechargeable LED reading lights. This is a plug with no battery and not easy to move because the flexible wire in the cable housing is too stiff, too long and cannot be attached to a book and positioned for reading. Of course it would be great to somehow attach it to the table and you could find a reading position without much interference, but if you want to attach it to a book and read, good luck because it's very difficult. It is durable and has a lot of light.
