This is an essential part for many GoPro users. I have recommended it to 2-3 friends who already have it and love it too. The silicone case offers additional protection. The only real downside is that you have to detach it to get to the battery, but that's a bit finicky. Protective films are surprisingly good, and I haven't noticed any deterioration in film quality when applying film to the lens itself. with two lens caps that work best when you are NOT using a silicone case, and the other has an enlarged diameter to cover the silicone lip and lens. They don't like to stand still. There is a protective point for attaching the cable (e.g. a camera lens cap) that prevents it from being lost if it is unplugged, but there was no such cable in my kit. Even if it is, it doesn't help to keep the lid in place. I just put a rubber band around my neck when it's in my pocket. Overall, you get a lot more bang for your buck buying this kit than buying either component individually. Recommended, but caps can be a bit crazy.
