I bought this for my bathroom because I hate having to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night with bright overhead lights on. I leave it on the red light setting and it's a large amount of light and the red doesn't hurt my eyes. I just want to be able to turn it on and off without unplugging it. My bathroom doesn't have a window, so even during the day when the overhead light is off, it's dark enough to turn on this night light. I want to be able to turn it off without unplugging it and putting it on the counter. Instead, it basically stays on for 24 hours unless someone is in the bathroom, which strikes me as a waste of time.
