I bought this fan in April. But even in the dead of winter I can still turn this fan on at night for background noise to help me sleep because the breeze is so negligible. In other words, it's really just a noise machine. Anyway, this fan stopped working completely last week. I turn it on and it runs for about 15 seconds before stopping. And it's mains powered, so battery life isn't an issue. My only other mini desk fan is a $15 Walmart purchase over 5 years ago that still works perfectly and cools my entire bedroom. Lesson learned when trying to buy a simple household item, especially for its attractive looks, as this fan is nothing but a piece of junk. At least that should end in the next 5 minutes.
