Husband tried, works fine. Hold a tie. I can't say how long they will last but as they are plain plastic I expect them to last forever if not abused. You don't fall - walker, seat belt, coat, etc. stay. Cheap and works. Much better than losing expensive tie pins, chains, etc. He said it's a bit basic since the trimmings add embellishment, but they're a lot cheaper when they fall off. Plus, they easily slip into a travel bag, so he doesn't have to worry about forgetting any tie pins, chains or clips on the trip. They're a little pricey considering they're all plastic, but assuming they don't break or whatever, I reckon they should last for years of everyday wear just from the fact that they're plastic .
