I make chainmail jewelry and have a lot of micro rings that needed some sort of storage. The bags were a pain in the ass! This container was the perfect solution. Each small container is 3/4" deep and 1.25" wide. Plastic containers have a thick bottom, some maybe at least 1/4 thick, so half of your storage space is wasted on the container itself. Where are they giving you more storage if that makes sense? The lids are easy to put on and take off, they are removed/put on rather than screwed, but not loose so the lid doesn't just fly off but at the same time doesn't let air through. I guess it depends on what you want to store in them, but I think they're perfect for storing beads, gemstones, small items, jump rings and similar items. There's a thin layer of foam on the inside of the lid to keep things from rattling around, and the metal is probably as strong as an Altoids can, which is fine for the size of the container, but if it were bigger I'd like it something more permanent.
