I bought these tea filter bags because I couldn't find the brand I used to use (can't remember the name) in my health food store anymore. I wanted something similar in size and got a size 1 based on the reviews. I have to say that this size is just right for a large cup of tea. I buy loose tea, pour it into these bags (the opening is big enough to do this easily, but I usually spill a bit anyway), then steep it in a cup of hot water. I only fill the bottom of the pouch and use it in two ways. Firstly, by leaving the top exposed, as the hot water will essentially seal the opening during brewing, and the pouch will eventually be pressed against the wall of the cup as the tea brews. Second, by folding the top valve into the hole and submerging the whole bag in hot water: I've actually found that this way the tea doesn't leak no matter how small the tea particles are - there's something in the material of the tea bags. which holds the small pieces inside. The filter bags are also quite strong: I left the tea bag in my mug overnight and filled it with water the next morning and the integrity of the tea bag was not compromised with prolonged steeping. The only thing that would just be great to add to these filter bags would be some sort of rope to easily pull the bag out of the water, but even without that I'm still very happy with this product.
