Review on Olive Green Brown Check Tartan by Keith Baker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice pattern, but only "OK " when pre-tied.

I've always been looking for these tweed bow ties with the traditional "British Tweed" pattern. So when I stumbled across these King & Priory bow ties I was definitely thrilled with the find and ordered a pair right away. However, when I received them I was a bit disappointed; As seen in the images above, the tweed material only extends to the bow tie, so the rest of the strap is thinner black satin ribbon material. On top of that, at least at the end, H&M bow ties have a metal clasp on which I can hook both clasps together for a lock. However, only one end of this bow tie has a metal clasp. The other end is a bow on the ribbon that I have to attach to this metal clasp, which makes it a bit tricky to use and doesn't give me a sense of "quality" either. Overall this is a nice print and a good investment if you don't know how to tie a bow tie and want something like a clip. But if you've stumbled upon the world of do-it-yourself ties, then I definitely recommend looking elsewhere (like The Ellis Tie Co., which also has a Revain store, by the way!).
