I hope the seller sees this rating and comment as this is an important issue that needs to be addressed. I bought these lamps for my elderly mother. When I visited her last week, I asked her if she liked them. She said that unfortunately she didn't have any batteries so she couldn't try them. I went out and bought some batteries and excitedly put them in to make them happy. HOORAY! There was a click, a bright light, and then all the lights went out. and the sickening smell of burning filled the room. I was afraid the whole thing would catch fire, but I couldn't pinpoint exactly how much light was damaged. Needless to say, I would not recommend these lamps to anyone. and would be afraid to use them in any environment.
