A new 7-inch for 285 was a risk I was willing to take. The last 7s with 2GB of RAM had already been purchased, so I had to settle for an 8-inch model. She had already committed to taking Samsung, so that wasn't an option. The dull Lenovo screen and the smartphone-like Huawei configurations (and, hence, the ineffective performance of some essential programs) vanished instantly. The options I had were limited, so I made do with what I could. In short, I have zero regrets. The screen is so bright that it can be viewed in direct sunlight. Sound from the external speakers is loud and clearer than that of the 285. Its battery life is excellent, allowing for two days of casual gaming and reading (against 1 day for Huawei). Though the screen's resolution is modest, it doesn't get in the way, and reading it is easy. Skinny and feathery. Put together properly, no failures or malfunctions. Superb bluetooth; I had no problems communicating from 20 meters away with a headphone (at 285 - at 5m) slows down every once in a while. Because the charging port is towards the bottom, holding it vertically is a bit of an odd and awkward experience. Conveniently, the charging cable is not too long. This may not be the best color reproduction, but it is made for gourmets. Camera quality is average (as on all tablets in this price category). As a result of their position, the speakers are at the very end, which degrades the audio quality. Compared to a seven-inch screen, the GPS is less accurate, but still usable. Unintelligent design flaws include a single tray for both the SIM card and the memory card and a cable that always unravels. Eight inches is about as much as a woman's hand can comfortably grip, so seven is ideal. Why it's so frustrating. In this configuration, using my tablet as a phone is a form of torture. If you cannot use a headset or speakerphone. The speaker is hardly audible. Even the otherwise superior Samsung keyboard was rendered useless. While the font size in the English style is standard, it is incredibly minuscule in the 2022 font, making it extremely difficult to use. Conclusion: less than perfect, but acceptable for the price. It's true; you really do have no other option. I detested working with advisors while picking a model. They kept repeating, "Take a smartphone with a diagonal of 6.8 inches!" like a broken record when I insisted on a larger screen size (7 inches). But, this doesn't change the fact that he's previously seen a screen 1.5 times! For me, it brought to mind the old Soviet joke about the notothenia fish.
