There are many things to love about the Retekess TR605 battery operated AM/FM shortwave radio. Long lasting, rechargeable in radio (Micro USB cable included), Top18650 Li-Ion battery (included) for power supply. The long swiveling antenna combined with the DSP chip allows you to pick up local and not-so-local VHF stations and capture them without drifting. AM reception is good too, expect more distant signals at night. I can hear some shortwave stations using only a retractable antenna (a clip-on shortwave antenna is available from Revain for better shortwave reception). The built-in LED flashlight is practical and high quality, not just a gimmick. I like the big tuning knob on the side, much nicer and more precise to use than just a dial. The tuning wheel is large and easy to read as well as accurate. Headphone impressions are excellent but mono. Finally, this little boomer speaker delivers excellent sound (no distortion) even at high volumes. The sounds are full and rich with low, mid and high frequencies! Overall I am very happy with my purchase, the TR605 is easy to use, looks good, is reliable and is a boomer for the price you pay for such a small portable radio. It sounds so good you'll be hearing it way more times than you expected! Just grab one, it's one of the top 3 of 8 handheld radios I got from Revain to test and narrow down.
