Review on ๐Ÿงฉ Classic Wooden Toy: Melissa & Doug Match and Roll Shape Sorter by Coby Hall

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Bad sorter on the first form - lots of little details. Best for children aged 2-4 years. Came sealed but missing a piece.

It actually came sealed and new but a part was missing so I sent it back. Also, it's smaller than I expected, which can be both a good and a bad thing (good because it doesn't take up much storage space, but bad because it's more difficult for a child to maneuver when they're still working on basic motor skills ). Anyway, I don't think it's at all for a small child. The ages range from a year and up, but I don't know too many kids under probably two that might enjoy these little pieces, so many different shapes, and the fact that some of them like the purple parallelogram. .must be turned over before inserting into the hole. I'm also not sure what I think of the chewed wooden bars. This depends on which child you are buying them for. If you have a chewer I'd settle for plastic, probably just because I didn't expect them to be able to EAT plastic (although they can leave little dents and tooth marks) but with paint they can chip. it and actually get little bits in it. If you know which kid you're giving it to, you can basically decide for yourself, but if it's for a group or kid you don't know that well then I don't know if I'll get it to you. I personally will wait until my child is a bit older and then re-order when I see that they have mastered the easier/bigger shape sorters, but this is not the best option for beginners. I like that the blocks are the same color as the panel they should be in. This should help kids decipher where to place them and improve color recognition/matching. In general I like it. But probably not for a one year old and I wish it was a little bigger. However, not so much!
