I fought the urge to buy this bag because it was a bit larger than the airlines allow. But I've traveled five flights across the US and Japan. I only used valet parking on a regional domestic flight as I didn't want to mess with it. ADVANTAGES: U-shaped zipper (open at top) allows for very quick access. It also has compression straps inside and out that really compress the load. I traveled with compression cubes for eight days and adjusted two large cubes: 2 clothes; 3 blouses; 1 pants; 1 pair of capris; 2 pairs of yoga pants; 2 tanks; 3 shirts; 2 PR shoes; cosmetic bag. On the way back I picked up two huge stuffed animals and some souvenirs. The bag was comfortable and the waist belt really helped distribute the load. I took off the smaller bag for my "personal belongings" and packed: a sweater, a folder with important documents; iPad, compression stockings, slippers, water bottle and medication. This is a fantastic holdall and the Osprey comes with an incredible warranty. This is not a problem for comfort and international tourism. I recommend this to anyone who needs comfort and versatility in their travels.
