Review on GIGABYTE AORUS NVMe Gen4 M.2 1TB Gaming SSD: High Performance PCI-Express 4.0 with Copper Heat Spreader, Toshiba 3D NAND & DDR Cache Buffer by Ningyen Su ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best thing I have ever used, highly recommended!

Despite the fact that the speed of pcie 4.0 can be much higher - here it is cut down. Apparently, manufacturers have so far run into some kind of technological barrier, which they still cannot overcome. In general, I recommend buying, because the price is very humane. In fact, the ssd costs like analogs on pcie 3.0. So why not take it? : I already bought a second ssd of the same kind and inserted it into the second m2 slot (behind the video card). He obviously doesn't like the proximity to the video card, the temperature is 7-10 degrees higher compared to his brother. But there's nothing you can do about it . This is a question for the motherboard)

Pros
  • Excellent speed in synthetic tests :) 5000/4500 - read/write, everything is as stated on the package. Excellent cooling due to the copper case-radiator. Even in speed tests it does not warm up above 55 degrees. In the hand one feels a solid and weighty thing.
Cons
  • In everyday use, you will not feel the increase in speed in comparison with high-speed pcie 3. Windows will not load faster, in fact, like games. The only place where I noticed at least some difference in comparison with the samsung 970 pro is the editing of 4k video. Some especially large projects in Adobe Premier are loaded, well, about 20-30% faster.
