If you are looking for a professional quality microphone to add to your collection or if you are looking for your first professional microphone, this is for you. A lot of people ask what mic to buy, what preamp to get, etc. I use this mic with an ART PRO MPA II preamp. Sounds amazing. It's clear, clean and fresh. The MPA II is low noise and works very well with this microphone. Any frequencies you don't like can be cut off during the mixing phase. I am planning to buy another mic pre as I want versatility in my studio but I assure you this mic is a smart buy and will not disappoint. TO UPDATE! to have. After a little recording it dawned on me that I was using an inferior microphone and connection cables from the preamp to the sound card. I bought two Hosa Pro Series balanced TRS patch cords and a 15 foot gold analog reference cord from MOGAMI. This gave me almost no noise in the recording. The quality of the cable matters, especially if you're a mixed tech, and the details matter. I do not endorse these brands, just sharing the results I have had with these purchases and setup.
