My Honest Review of

I bought three wireless headsets on day one July 11, 2017. That was after spending about 10 hours looking for headsets. I bought this, Phaiser BHS-760 and Jaybird X3. I haven't received the Phaiser BHS model yet, so I can't comment on that. But for Bluephonics and Jaybirds I can make a comparison. I have no personal interest in any of these products. I'm a regular consumer trying to get the best bang for my buck. You probably too. First, I'm running a custom Android ROM Lollipop v 5.11 Resurrection Remix on a rooted Galaxy Note 3. BLUETOOTH SETUP: Bluephonics connected on first try. There was no delay whatsoever. That made me smile. Jaybird X3 had problems connecting to Bluetooth. It took me 3 tries to connect but eventually it happened. I frowned a little. CONSTRUCTION AND QUALITY: Both sets are equal in terms of durability but they only last 2 days on me so time will tell. I'm planning a 100 mile bike ride in November so this will be the best test of which ones hold up better. I'll be running down Florida's west coast to the Keys, so I'm sure the sweat and rain I experience will be a fitting test. Both headsets are durable and simple in design. They are also equal in terms of comfort. Jaybirds tried a lot to find the most comfortable ear pad and get the fins to fit my ear properly. I fumbled for hours to get it right. On the other hand, Bluephonics were very simple. Once I figured out which part fits which ear, all I had to do was put them in my ear, apply some pressure and boom, they fit perfectly. I have not used foam ear tips with Bluephonics but will. I think they will be more comfortable. Jaybird comes with a small pouch to store your extra earbuds and ear pads. But there is not enough space for a headset. They should have made it at least 2 inches taller. The Bluephonic has a robust housing that can also accommodate additional headphones and a headset. Here they win. SOUND QUALITY: That surprised me. without spending hundreds of dollars. I don't think one is better than the other. They're different. What I mean? Bluephonics have a wider soundstage and clearer sound. much warmer sound with fully separated sound across all frequencies. Regardless of which one you like, it's a personal preference. The tones seemed faithful to the original sound of the music I was playing. The bass was punchier on the Bluephonics, but not too powerful. The mids and highs were exceptionally clear without being tinny. I've played m4a and mp3 music at 320kbps and also listened to some high quality FLAC files. I installed a PowerAmp which has a great frequency equalizer and wifi. With Bluephonics I didn't have to make any adjustments. I kept the response curve flat. At Jaybirds I made some adjustments to make the music my liking. I installed the MySound app that came with Jaybird but didn't use it as the PowerAmp has great frequency EQ as well as volume, tone controls and what they call SteroX. These devices obviously have different drivers. Loyalty was high in both divisions. Hearing sounds is like looking at art. Some like one picture over another. The key point is that both devices sound great. This is a matter of taste. I wouldn't hesitate to use any of these devices as my everyday headset. That is, while the call quality and microphone are good. CALL QUALITY Can't comment on that yet as I haven't received a call yet! But it was an important reason to buy three different headphones. I make calls almost every day for my business, so call quality is critical. If they are equal in this regard, I will not update my opinion. But if there is a difference I will update my review. CHARGING YOUR HEADSET Bluephonic comes with a micro SD connector and a short dongle. You were warned not to use an outlet to charge, but I don't think it makes a difference if you have a charger that doesn't have too much current. I haven't found that number yet, but I've used a charger that puts out 0.75 amps. I spot the magic number as I don't want to sacrifice battery life and from other reviews I've read here's what happens when you drain too much power. I fully charged my device until the light turned warm blue. It took about an hour. Jaybirds has its own "paperclip" charger. It works well, but it's a pain in the ass. The key is only 4 inches long so it's a miss. You could make it 3' for ease of use. If I lose the charging clip, I cannot charge the headset. So that's a BIG minus in my opinion. You might as well have made a standard micro-charge port on one of the earbuds. If you only have one headset, you're stuck until you buy a replacement. If they had provided 2 or 3 additional clips to replace the original purchase I would have been much happier. I found a replacement on the Jaybird website but did not order it. It's not that expensive. So Bluephonic wins in this fact. Both headsets should last around 8 hours on a full charge. I like loud music so I probably won't get the full hourly rate, but if I can get through the day that's all I care about. I put the headset on at the start of the day and it stays in my ears for most of the day. Can't comment on the battery life as I keep using the headset until the batteries die. CONNECT AND DISCONNECT The Jaybirds win here. I was able to penetrate 2 walls in my apartment without losing the connection. Bluephonic had problems with the same distance through the same two walls. I don't really care as I usually have my phone next to me while I work. So Bluephonic has a lot of my approval. I hope this lasts forever as I know I will use it. It's slightly cheaper than the Jaybird X3 and the build quality is just as good in my opinion. I will keep Jaybird anyway as I think it's great. I have another headset to test. If there are any disasters like loss of sound, broken cable or if any of them beeps, I will edit my review.
