Review on πŸ‘™ AXESEA Women's Long Sleeve Rash Guard Hooded One Piece Swimsuit: Sun Protection with Front Zipper & Stylish Prints by Morgan Davis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastic sun protection

Great rash guard for full protection including a hood and long straps with thumb holes that cover about half my arm. I love the zipper for getting in and out. Unfortunately I lived in the sun as a child. Then they also sold sunscreen, more like vegetable oil to get a good tan. I spent my summers in the pool and never wore protection. As a result, I have sunspot damage on my arms, shoulders and feet. This is my new reality hiding from the sun in a black space suit with UV protection. I'll probably be wearing black nylon swim leggings and some leg coverings. The Black Lagoon Monster might not be the most attractive sight, but it won't aggravate my skin. The first thing that struck me about this suit is the build quality. It is well made with quality materials starting with the zipper. This is the YKK company, which is a leading manufacturer of zippers and produces zippers of very good quality. The fabric is comfortable and has a good durable medium weight. The label states that the outer shell is 82% POLYESTER and 18% Elastane (Spandex), unfortunately it is not Nylon/Spandex as listed in the listing at the time of writing this article. The only part that is lined is the chest area (removable cups) and the tags show the same lining material as listed by Revain. The fabric has amazing elasticity. The vertical elongation is about 170% and the width is about 200%. Very stretchy but recovery is not as good as nylon. This recovers about 90% instantly, while nylon recovers almost 100%. I suspect that after resting for a few minutes, it recovers about as much as a nylon/spandex mix. Another notable point is that the hood has ventilation holes at the top and back and is attached with a drawstring. Many hooded suits do not have a drawstring. Fit: I took a size 16 although the listing says my hips are bigger than mine because I'm tall and most one-piece suits are too short for the torso. It worked, the length suits me but the back needs work and the chest is a bit big. The neckline is more of a full back than high legs, which I like. The elastic that runs from the zipper to the side seam under each bust provides good bust support. I would say the chart is correct for a size 16 suit. For reference I'm 40/35/39, 6' tall, 184 lbs, 68" circumference (between legs and shoulder). Fall for the summer to play in the sun. Would be great for a September swim since the black was supposed to catch the sun's rays and help keep me warm.I'll probably go with one of the other lighter colors for the summer.

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to it
Cons
  • The list will be long.
