OK. Here's what you need to know before purchasing this item: (1) Your Death Star may or may not function properly. The instructions state that you must press the controller's power button and then press the Death Star's launch button for it to work. That's wrong, at least for me. After some trial and error with each button and sequence, I found that the controller's power button needs to be pressed and HOLD in the ON position (if it's blinking), THEN press the start button while holding the power button. Then turned it on and works fine. Then I turned on the X-Wing and they both fought just fine. I also have a USS Enterprise quadcopter and the X-Wing is very stable compared to the Enterprise. = minus 1/2 star (2) My Death Star doesn't swim well. It tends to rise to the ceiling and stay there most of the time. This isn't a deal breaker for me, but the item loses 1 star as a result. (3) The charging port (female) on the X-Wing is not a micro USB port. Inexplicably, this is a non-standard connector that comes out of a slot in the controller. Why ? In any case. This is an absurdly stupid technical solution and annoying to plug in and charge, but okay, what the heck. It's strange, but for me it's not a problem. = minus 1/2 stars. So three stars PLUS one star because the X-wing is so fun and cool to fly, 4 stars total. I get about ten minutes of flight time between charges. Both the X-Wing and the Death Star are made out of fairly sturdy, soft plastic, no foam here, unlike the Enterprise. There were 4 extra props in the box. Good. IMO this is not a toy for young children as it is too weak to withstand being hit by children. All in all, this is a great boy's toy that's a lot of fun. UPDATE: The original rating was 4 stars. After 30 days of very limited use (maybe 15 flights) I am demoting this item to 1 star because either the X-Wing's battery capacity has been severely reduced or one or more of the rotors are not running at full speed. Basically, the X-wing works for about 30 seconds on a full charge, then it'll have a hard time getting airborne, and most of the time after that it's hurtling across the ground until it tips over. Sad. fun while it lasted. Of course I have passed the return date for this item. At least it looks good on the shelf, as a constant reminder that I didn't heed other reviewers' warnings. So it goes without saying: even if you get a working one, it will break the day after your last day to return it.
