Review on πŸ”Š Spracht BluNote 2.0 Portable Speaker: 10-Watt Wireless Bluetooth Speaker for Music and Voice in Black by Raquel Ramirez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Hooking it up was easy even for a VERY non-geek

As I write this, I'm enjoying a YouTube recording of Eileen Farrell singing an excerpt of Messiah. The power of her beautiful voice on this small device is amazing! I use a Bluetooth connection with my iPhone 4. The connection was easy even for a VERY non-geek. The instructions state that the wireless network range is up to 33 feet. This is some nonsense! I've tried it from over 60 feet from the phone and behind two closed doors with no noticeable drop in quality. Spracht looks great on my desk (sleek design, black and silver, with large control buttons conveniently placed along the top rib). Comes with a short audio cable (3.5mm on both ends) and a USB charging cable so you can charge the built-in battery via a computer or wall charger. Just checked out a record by Ravi Shankar (produced by George Harrison). Spracht captures the intricacies of a quasi-Indian orchestra with astonishing accuracy. Now a note: when trying to use it as a conference phone, the microphone isn't very good. When the speaker was on top of the device, the voice was muffled; When she sat back (less than a meter from the microphone) it was almost unintelligible. The phone number to call was a landline number. As such, it's a great Bluetooth speaker for its size, but not great for conferencing.
