Review on πŸ’» HP 3005PR USB 3.0 Port Replicator - USB Docking: Simplify Connectivity and Expand Your Workspace by Sergio Guardado

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The service in general was great.

The replicator that arrived looked used. There are signs of use everywhere. I just bought one for an employee who needed a keyboard, mouse and two monitors (for a total of three displays with one laptop screen). Installing the port replicator was easy. Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (updated) on the HP ProBook 455 G3 does not automatically detect and install the port replicator driver. You need to find and install the drivers. After installation, everything worked immediately, although it requires a reboot. After a reboot, for some reason, the laptop sees the port replicator as another hard drive. And the laptop makes the port replicator the main/first "drive" to boot. Even entering the BIOS and confirming that the internal hard drive is the primary/first boot drive does not resolve the issue. The only workaround at this point is to make sure the port replicator is disabled (it connects to the laptop via USB 3.0) before turning on the laptop. After turning on the laptop, before it loads Windows, we just plug the port replicator back into the laptop via USB 3.0 and everything works. We give the docking station 1 star based on the product itself. The service in general was great.
