Review on πŸ”’ Nelson-Rigg Waterproof Tank Bag for Dual Sport/Enduro Bikes - The Hurricane by Pius Aponte

Waterproof, no optional rain cover

I have a Nelson-Rigg SE-3060 Black/Grey Hurricane Dual Sport/Enduro waterproof tank bag that is mounted on some CSC, 2015 RX3 and RX2020 RX4 bikes. I was looking for something totally waterproof with no extra cover that would fit a Nikon D3500 DSLR with the 18-140mm zoom attached and it ticks all the boxes. There's just enough room for a camera with a lens attached, with a few other bits and bobs scattered around, and the pocket isn't large enough to obstruct the bike's controls or view of the instrument cluster. This is just a bag with a strap; it has no magnets to attach to steel fuel tanks. The bag is attached to the straps with plastic quick-release fasteners. The straps are equipped with elastic supports that connect them in pairs and prevent them from falling into the motorcycle frame when the bag is removed. The zippers are waterproof and therefore robust; There's also a material edge that folds over the zippers when needed for added water resistance. I mostly keep mine folded to make zipping easier. The materials used seem to be of high quality, there were no problems with the stitching that I could detect. The bottom of the bag is very soft so as not to damage the paint on the fuel tank. There is an adjustable internal divider held in place with Velcro so you can divide your items into two different sized compartments if desired. The internal dimensions are 8" L x 5" W x 4" H. The total internal volume is 2.6 liters. In addition, the transparent map cover is touch-friendly, so you can place your phone with GPS and still use it. It's a great one Choice if you're too lazy to mess around with a separate rain cover like most standard nylon tank bags like mine On the way out I'll spend the extra money to get waterproof bags attached to the tank from the start FYI - Nelson Rigg also makes a larger version, the SE-3070, which holds 11 liters if you need more volume. They also make a set of spare straps if yours are damaged or if you want to use one bag with multiple bikes and need them order directly on their website.

Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
