I'm 5'11.5" tall and this stand is a full 8" lower for safe, normal and comfortable viewing. If I raise the center of the bar to 2.25 inches on the block of wood, the center of the monitor is still too low. This is 6 inches lower than my center of vision when my chair is 19 inches high. This means that GSDM002 is basically dangerously low for anyone under 5ft 6in. In North America, this includes most adult males. By dangerously low, I mean it forces the user to tilt their head down at an angle that can permanently damage the discs in the cervical vertebrae. This is a common and painful condition that many employees have suffered from after years of using poorly designed monitor stands. If you are an adult taller than 5ft 6in, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. And that's assuming you can build a block of wood to add a few inches to the height. If you already have these it would be wise to return them, sell them or give them to a child and buy one that is safe for your height.
