They provide support and relief for my son's ankles. I think it was a combination of growing pains and overuse when he finally got back into the sport after a year off, but he really needed it. He's 10, they fit, but I think he'll outgrow them soon. I would guess and suggest that they might be best suited to 5-10 year olds. But they are quite well designed with quality material. Can be worn with or without socks and shoes. Comfortable enough. Flexible and adjustable.
