We bought these because of the good reviews. Upon receipt, the presentation of the package was very pleasant. The napkins are on the thinner side so they are translucent. They also appear to be hand-sewn and are not perfectly square. In fact, none of the napkins were perfectly formed. We washed them and they were fine, a little wrinkled but not much. You need an iron to get a crispy napkin - they iron well, but once folded the crease will be embossed. They fit well in napkin rings. In general we like them, they are rustic, not silky, rather rough but still with a certain softness.
