PRODUCT IS PERFECT for oral care

Fantastic product, we have been using it for over 10 years. He is 22 years old, with a trachea, on a ventilator, the peroxymint solution is best at dissolving viscous, dried secretions on teeth, gums and lips. It is very important for him that everything that gets into his mouth and contains moisture is connected to the suction at the same time. He does not swallow well and fluid can easily get into the airways and cause pneumonia. We are in IMC/ICU hospital all the time due to pneumonia and other issues related to his many complex medical needs. We have actually spent half a year in the hospital every year since 2017. Hospitals have this mouth cleaning system that they have to use for him (all patients on ventilation) that kills bacteria in the mouth. It sucks! I hate that. We always take some of these with us. Their kits include an angled sponge suction wand similar to these. This is the HALYARD brand and that's why I hate it. The sponge in halyard simply attaches to the plastic "straw"/yanker and sits flush with the end of the plastic "sucking end". They are not soft and flexible like silicone, but hard plastic. This hole in the center of the sponge is the ONLY place for dirt or liquid to soak up. So if you use a sponge, as is sometimes required, the end of the suction tip will scratch the tongue, gums, palate, resulting in bleeding, etc. THESE SAGE suction pads wrap around the end of the suction tip. Complete coverage of the plastic parts on the bottom prevents these problems. This is also possible due to the fact that there are small holes on the sides under the sponge (the sponge also has corresponding holes) through which waste liquid is sucked. It's a simple concept that Halyard hasn't figured out yet, and their very expensive system could easily cover the cost of an entire bag of these Sage suction pads. I wish Sage would also sell individually wrapped versions of these without detergent. We have to apply Biotene after cleaning the mouth, which is a liquid although it is a bit thicker than water. As I said, apart from sucking, nothing goes into the mouth. So we end up opening a set of these and throwing away the cleaning solution so we can wet the sponge and put biotin in his mouth on his tongue etc to keep his mouth wet.
