I did a lot of research before deciding on this camera. I wasn't looking for DSLR quality, I just wanted a camera that would be easy to use (very important for a woman) and take high quality pictures quickly. Our current Sony camera took good pictures, but the lens froze randomly and we kept dropping frames; So it was important to get something that works when I want it. Here's what was important to me: Fast shooting with or without flash Quick start for the first shot Something that works consistently High quality images Good optical zoom (over 5x) Handy MOS/CMOS sensor I have a two year old and was looking for a camera that could be quickly grabbed, turned on, and fired before losing the frame. We had this camera for about a month and filmed inside and out. I have no complaints about him, he does everything I ask of him. The pictures were great, this camera ticks all the boxes above. Casual Pros: A separate record button for recording videos is a really easy way to record videos. The camera feels solid / is of high quality. Simply put, it doesn't feel cheap, I notice it every time I use it. Simple things like you can't disable digital zoom; But the zoom stops at 10x before it goes digital, so you don't have to turn it off. If you like it, use it. This may be common, but I thought it was a nice touch. Only gripe: the buttons on the back aren't centered on the holes (no big deal, they work well, just noticed). Zoom - you need to be very still to take a picture at 10x magnification. I would expect that from any camera of this size; This isn't a blow for this camera, just something to be aware of with any high zoom pocket camera. It's a bit heavy, I agree on how durable it seems. If you're looking for a basic camera that lets you take great quick shots, I highly recommend this one.
