I have a very small kitchen and wanted to have some items closer when cooking (colander, grater, etc.). I originally put a few hooks on a shelf across the room, but I got tired of going there when I needed something. Reflecting on the situation, I considered using the side of the island/cart, but didn't know how to go about it. I considered several options before settling on hooks including attaching a dowel or paper towel holder with S hooks for hanging dishes, a small chain screwed to the island (again with S hooks), but I didn't think it would look right. This allows them to be close without being obvious, and they look better than simple command hooks (no offense, I use them elsewhere). So far they are holding up well and honestly I don't expect them to fall off given the weight of the utensils hanging from them. I only waited a few hours after placing them before using them. I was also pleasantly surprised at the size; More glue surface means more contact with the wood and they don't look fancy. The color also matched the drawer handle on the front. I am very happy with them.
