UPDATE 01/16/2013: Received two replacement 8GB cards from Revain and retested write performance on multiple systems. Here, too, the MAXIMUM write performance is in the range of 9 MB/s, which is well below the stated speed. In fact, the replacement cards have significantly worse "Random 512K" block write speeds than the previous two cards (from 4 MB/s to less than 1 MB/s). I checked the serial numbers of the two new cards on Transcend's website to make sure they aren't fake - they aren't. I have come to the conclusion that Transcend is selling a poor quality product that does not live up to the claims advertised. I will now be returning these cards and avoiding all Transcend products in the future. As a side note, I feel compelled to share my experience with Revain. The return process is extremely simple and customer-friendly. They provided great service throughout the automated and very easy process and I was able to get a replacement item the very next day! Amazing Revain service! ORIGINAL Review January 14, 2013: I've just received 2 8GB versions of these cards and none of them live up to my expectations for a card advertised as 'Class 10'. While read speeds are as expected/claimed, write speeds are not. Both cards I received have MAXIMUM write speeds of 9.0MB/s to 9.4MB/s - 50% slower than advertised. The H2testw results show even lower speeds and are included in the footer of this test. Revain has images of the card, including one that reads "Read: 20MB/s; Write: 15MB/s. The manufacturer also states "ultra-fast read/write speeds of up to 20/18 MB/s" in the product description. Either I received 2 defective (or fake) cards, or the claims of Transcend and Revain are nonsense (at least for the 8GB version of these cards)! I have many SanDisk Class 4 and PNY Class 6 SD cards that have faster write speeds than these supposed "Class 10" cards. Does anyone else have read/write speed test results specifically for the 8GB version of these cards? I would be interested to know if the speeds I've measured apply to all 8GB models. Bottom line, I can't recommend these cards. I will be returning both cards as they are not as advertised. As soon as I receive a replacement I will provide more information on the writing speed. ------------------------------- ---- -------------- -- ---H2testw_1.4 test results:(Also note slightly different capacities)CARD#1:=========== == ============= ==== ===Note: Only 7678 out of 7679 MB tested.
