Don't go by the size, go by the measurements and know the waist is slightly larger than stated.

I (5'9 175lb) like many other reviewers received a free product in exchange for a review. Unlike others I am a seamstress and specialize in fashion design and I bought this knowing it was the wrong size for me so this review is based on that. Strengths: I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the polyester used for the skirt. It looks very durable, is washable and should hold up well (although I haven't tested it in the wash yet). color as in the photo. The zipper is of good quality, well stitched and well hidden. The length is within the tolerances of the size chart and does not include the waistband (which is approximately 1.25 inches). The hem is sewn straight and evenly, the cut edge is folded neatly. The inner shorts have some stretch in contrast to the skirt and an inseam of about 2 inches. Disadvantages: First, the waist measurement is NOT according to the chart. The waist is 32 inches which means I can easily fit her a size 12 (not a 6). The most helpful reviews will tell you that the waist is a bit smaller and I can attest to that. That's an extra 2 inches at the waist. , whether you are measuring a circle or a plane, both are closed. This will be the most important thing to remember. While the skirt technically fit me, the shorts did NOT. Although they are stretchy, they are designed for a size 6, not a 12. Second, I've never seen so many loose threads on a finished product in my life. You might think this is an odd thing to worry about, but in the apparel industry, this is a red flag in terms of quality. Uncut threads indicate that you are sewing in a hurry and prefer quantity over quality. The quality of the stitching only underscores this point. None of my professors would ever accept that as a finished product. One of the pleat seams had to be re-stitched (and I'll probably have to re-sew it myself). Proper trimming of the threads only made it clearer which stitches were done too hastily. The loop is terrible. Trimming the loose threads helped a lot, but I'm considering doing it again, or applying clear nail polish, or checking for wear. I'm not sure if anyone actually tried to sew the shorts correctly. It's gathered in one spot at the waist, and the stitched hem doesn't even try to adjust. The fabric is super cheap. At least I can say that the inseam fits. What worries me, but doesn't really bother me, is the lack of information about ironing. Not on the product page, not on the label (which is entirely in Chinese but the symbols are universal). When it comes to pleated clothing, expect them to say SOMETHING about it, even if it doesn't wrinkle. maybe even buy one or two. IF it fits AND the threads are cut it's probably worth the price. I think I'll pull off my shorts and see if I can get this to work, although since I'm tall I honestly prefer another 4-5 inch length (due to the camera angle they look a bit longer than they really are are).
