Review on BeadSmith Round Flat Nylon Pliers by Amber Perez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Defective and not fit for its intended use (photo included)

This item was defective. The nylon block had a deep dent (probably due to an error in the formation of the block). Because it has indentations, it's not possible to get the wire straight through that area (and therefore impossible to loop with the narrowest part of the rounded end). If the manufacturer doesn't contact me, I assume I'll send it back. Also, I used it to bend the wire three or four times. Each time, the wire left an indentation in the nylon (not as deep as the indentation caused by the defect). I've never used nylon before, but if I continue like this, the surface won't be flat after about 20 wire bends, which I didn't believe based on the product description. Overall I am totally dissatisfied with this product. The attached photo shows horizontal streaks (where I bent the wire) and a defect near the tip. The notch is slightly deeper than the width of the needle point at the same point (about 1/5 or 1/6 cm?). Again, I didn't create the gouges, but I did create the scratches, which I think happened with discouraging ease considering it was done to bend the wire. For reference I used 16 gauge soft copper wire. But honestly I wouldn't be surprised if a fingernail could seriously damage this. I wasn't impressed with the workmanship; I would expect better quality from a kid running a lemonade stand than I have found in this product.

Pros
  • DOUBLE TIPS: Sponges serve two different functions, allowing you to do more with one tool! Round outlet for bends and loops and flat outlet for straightening the wire.
Cons
  • Long delivery time
