I also have a Sennheiser HD650 and will tell you in comparison with them. The fact that the HD280s sound more "bass" is immediately noticeable, but they do not muddy the mix much. I would say that the headphones are not sickly so "pump" on the bottoms. Of course, the detail is also less, but the instruments are still well read in the mix and form a wide stereo image. The sonic feel of the mix is โโclose, rather than sitting somewhere far away in the speakers. This is definitely a plus in this price range. There is little detail in these headphones for good mixing, but they will be comfortable listening, recording, creating music, as well as using them as additional monitoring. When evaluating this or that equipment, I always try to be guided by common sense, and therefore I do not expect to hear a linear frequency response with high detail in these headphones. But I understand that for this money the headphones show good sound quality and assembly. I knew exactly what I was buying, so the headphones fully met my expectations. A good workhorse. From my own experience I will say: take proven brands, do not win a penny in Chinese stores, you will only lose money. I always advise you to listen to what you are going to buy, so as not to be disappointed.
