I wore it to a semi-formal event and got loads of compliments! I'm 5ft 8in, DD, 230lbs, curvy but kinda good. There was plenty of room for girls without crazy cleavage. My thick arms were nicely covered. The cut down the middle wasn't too high even when seated and helped a lot when walking. I wore it with ballet flats and the dress dusted the top but not the bottom. The material is thick and quite warm. Lighter colors may show through. It's slim fitting so wear a romper or spanks or the panty lines will show. The color is very dark. not rusty or plum but like merlot. I drank red wine (cabernet) with him and the dress was darker. I've tried other colors and styles. The long sleeve version was a few inches shorter and didn't fit me. Going up a size so the waist is where I want it and it's long enough, but that may just be my shape. I liked the feeling and I will definitely buy more colors! Just watch the length.
