heats up quickly, good value

This duvet looks a bit cheap but warms up quickly. stand on my feet. So I tried this inexpensive duvet instead of the complicated full size duvet. It heats up much faster than the old blanket it replaces. I've tried sleeping under it and found that I quickly get uncomfortably warm in medium or high temperatures; There was no indication in the description that body temperature regulation worked. Since it doesn't affect how I use the blanket, it doesn't bother me. My cat loves to sleep on this blanket in the winter, especially after I put another blanket over it. However, the cheap material snags easily, and my cat (who has clipped claws) occasionally accidentally snags the material, so after a few weeks of light use, there are half a dozen visible stretches on the fabric. The cable is long enough and the controls are easy to use. At around 100 watts of power, it's a much cheaper way to keep warm than a heater, according to my KillAWatt! A basic duvet that works well although definitely not pretty to put on Armani sheets but for 1/2 or 1/4 the price of better duvets I can handle it! Recommended. UPDATE October 2009: After a few months of use (part of two seasons) the blanket is no longer getting as hot as it used to (on all settings). I'm not sure if it's worn or if I damaged it by not following the detailed care instructions carefully. This, combined with the area around the edges that doesn't have heating elements, makes the blanket less useful to me now. If I could edit the star rating I would lower it to 3 stars now.
